Project Overview
An online storefront for jamdani and Tangail sarees, panjabis, nakshi kantha and Bangladeshi pantry staples, built for a UK audience buying directly from artisan makers.
The Challenge
Artisan stock is one-of-a-kind and short-run: a piece can be the only one in the shop, and postage and payment are still agreed personally with each buyer. A conventional card checkout would have promised instant fulfilment the supply chain cannot keep, so the shop needed to sell confidently without taking money up front.
Our Engineering Solution
We built the storefront in Next.js with an enquiry-based checkout — the cart captures the order, then the team confirms payment and delivery directly with the customer over WhatsApp, phone or email. Product photography is served from Supabase storage through next/image, so full-resolution artisan shots ship as optimised AVIF/WebP. A wishlist, editorial blog and newsletter sit alongside the shop.
