Project Overview

A daily Bengali-language news publication — 'Voice of the Valley' — covering Sylhet alongside national and international news, published by a working newsroom rather than a development team.

The Challenge

A regional newsroom files dozens of stories a day across fifteen sections, and the people filing them are journalists, not developers. Bengali adds a second constraint: Bangla script needs typefaces and line metrics that most stock themes render badly, leaving headlines cramped and body copy hard to read at length.

Our Engineering Solution

We built the portal on WordPress so editors publish, categorise and run the breaking-news ticker themselves with no deployment step. Bengali typography is set in Hind Siliguri and Tiro Bangla so headlines and long-form copy hold up in Bangla script, and the section architecture, e-paper, video and search all route through the same editorial workflow.
